After studying Dutch Language and Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam I returned to my passion for IT and starting working on the Helpdesk at Britisch Telecom in 1998. The Telco-world was an exciting one at that time, and I was fortunate to have the chance to work at great companies like MCI/UUnet and Lucent Technologies.

Early 2000 it became clear that IP would become the dominant technology so I focused my studies on Data Communications and became CCNP and CCDP certified. Working at Network General as a systems engineer for the Sniffer-product I had a chance to build practical knowledge on IP based networks and not soon after the availability of an Open Source giant like Wireshark (or Ethereal as it was known in those days) threatened the existence of the company I moved to Dimension Data, a Cisco Gold-partner.

Wihtin Dimension Data I worked for the department responsible for delivering training to customers, als known as Dimension Data Learning Solutions (DDLS). I acguired my CCSI certification, allowing me to teach Cisco certified courses.

Since 2006 I started working as a freelancer, doing both training (Cisco and non-Cisco) and consultancy. Consultancy is mainly focused on Design and troubleshooting, for both SMB and Enterprise networks. As a trainer I delivered courses (CCNA/CCNP level) and created several trainings for a compay called 2Sides, including Multicast fundamentals and IPv6 Fundamentals.
